ADA1186 is low cost multi-channel CODEC for consumer electronics applications such as, home theater, DVD/DVR player, AC3 encoder/decoder, and Set-Top Box, etc. ADA1186 includes two channels ADC and six channels DAC. Its DAC accepts input word length of 20 and 24bits and its ADC outputs 24bit data. The 6 channels DAC support audio sampling frequency from 16KHz to 192KHz and the 2 channels ADC support audio sampling frequency from 16KHz to 96KHz. In addition a range of control features are provided by ADA1186 either via a 3-wire serial interface or via hardware pins, which is determined by a Mode select pin.
